President of Local Video Game Company to Speak at IGDA and ACM Siggraph Meeting in Fort Lauderdale
Fort Lauderdale, FL—GameRecruiter, the leader in recruitment services for
the interactive entertainment industry, today announced that the South Florida
Chapter of the Independent Game Developers Association (IGDA) and the Fort
Lauderdale ACM Siggraph Chapter are holding a joint meeting and game industry
presentation on June 18, 2008.
Located at the Keiser University campus, the IGDA-Siggraph meeting will
feature Hugh Falk, President of both the game art studio, Shadows in Darkness, and the game
development company, Darkside Game Studios. Both video game development studios
are based in South Florida. Falk’s featured presentation topic is entitled
“Managing a Game Project.” Falk will share his knowledge about managing game
projects and the game development process.
The IGDA-SIGGRAPH meeting will begin at 7 pm and will be located at Keiser
University, 1500 NW 49th Street in Fort Lauderdale (95 exit Commercial Blvd go
West. Meeting held on the 5th floor Auditorium). Following Falk’s presentation,
the meeting will continue at Champps Sports Bar for a social hour at 8:30 pm,
located at 6401 N. Andrews Avenue, in Fort Lauderdale. Both events are free to
attend and open to the public.
Prior to his roles as President and Executive Producer at these two Florida
studios, Falk was Development Director on Madden NFL 2001 for Electronic Arts.
There he directed the PS2’s most successful US launch title and followed with
NCAA Football 2002. He then accepted the role of VP of Development for 2015,
Inc., creators of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. Next he advanced to the role
of Studio Head for Midway San Diego and later Executive Producer at Nival
Interactive (known for Heroes of Might and Magic). Hugh was responsible for
teams over 60 people and hundreds of external resources.
