- Brad Lawrence,
Brad has been involved with Computer Graphics for the last three decades, from doing freelance work for clients to visualization of projects at NASA. Brad is currently the Advanced Visualization Engineer at Vencore, where he currently is helping design an Operational Imagery System to support the Space Launch System at the Kennedy Space Center. Prior to Vencore, Brad was the Computer Science Lead at United Space Alliance, where he oversaw the NASA Image Analysis Facility, Kennedy’s Advanced Visualization Environments Lab and a Motion Capture Studio. Brad is also an active and long standing ACM SIGGRAPH member.
Disney’s Zootopia “Environment Creation”

Last year Fort Lauderdale ACM SIGGRAPH and FGDA hosted a successful Global Game Jam here in Boca Raton and are back for round 3.
The Game Jam is open to everyone interested in creating games, whether you are a beginner, hobbyist, professional game developer., etc. You can make any type of game at the Jam, no one is limited to just creating video games. Attendance is free, and raffles during the event.
We are glad to have David Vega , Technical Artist at Rockstar Games and Fort Lauderdale SIGGRAPH Chapter Leader, as our local keynote speaker for the Global Game Jam to kickoff on Friday. David will be sharing his experience about transitioning from student to an industry professional !

Resident “pythonista” for the Rockstar Games NYC Office. After graduating from the Computer Animation program Full Sail University in 2011, he moved back South Florida, worked as freelancer while sharpening his rigging and scripting skills and became involved with SIGGRAPH. He has now turned from Floridian to New Yorker to go give Triple A work a try while still coming back to South Florida to help enrich the local computer graphics scene.
- Parking is free at the venue and participants will receive guest passes to access the Campus for the duration of the Jam . Everyone attending will be required to sign a Liability Waiver when they arrive on site at the event (if they are under 18 a parent or guardian will need to sign the document)

What will I need for the GGJ 2016?
- Any supplies/materials you will need to create your game. Laptops, paper, pencils, etc.
- Open Source and free-to-use software will be available at the Game Jam. Extended trial licenses for MODO will be available to participants courtesy of the Foundry.
- Sleeping bags, Inflatable mattress, blankets, etc. if you plan to stay overnight. We encourage people to sleep at least 4 hours during the event.
- Food, especially for those working late at night. There are Vending Machines on the premise and restaurants nearby but it is better to come prepared.
- A group of friends is nice but not required, teams will be formed during the event.
- Most importantly , You !

Come and Join the Fort Lauderdale ACM SIGGRAPH as Larry Rosenthal presents 3D Design and World Building for VR, AR, and Immersive Storyworlds at Delray Tech Space on July 24th, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.
The evening will include a presentation on many of the methods and tools that focus on 3D Design and World Building that Cube3 has been involved with over the years in areas like TV, Games, and Websites. Before and after the presentation there will be opportunities to network with other attendees.
Meet the Artist:
Larry Roesnthal has over two decades of experience as a leader in the area of virtual worlds , transmedia creation, social games, online 3D, and Design for both entertainment and corporate media uses. Over the years LarryR/Cube3 has worked with both media content makers and tool makers creating products, properties and services and then forming communities and ecosystems around them. Clients and Licensor’s of his original media content and designs include, Sony, CBS, AOL, Fox, Showtime, DC Comics, Ubisoft, Paramount and ABC.

After Effects 2D Character Animation Workshop
Come and Join the Fort Lauderdale ACM SIGGRAPH as Richard Christian presents an After Effects 2d Character Rigging and Animation Essentials Workshop on Tuesday April 14th, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.
About the Presentation:
In this workshop you will learn how to bring vector and 2D characters like this little Yeti dude to life for your personal and professional projects in my 2D Character Rigging & Animation Essentials workshop with Fort Lauderdale SIGGRAPH Chapter. We’ll cover character setup with null object parenting for fk, ik with puppet tools and the free Duik plugin, setting up lip synch and facial controls with expressions and pre-comps and other neat tricks.
What will I need for this workshop ?
- A laptop with Affect Effects
- Example file and plugins will be made available
Meet the Artist:
Richard Christian is an Independent Multimedia Generalist Artist of several disciplines including After Effects motion graphics and animation, Digital compositing, 3D modeling and animation, game design, stop motion animation, 2D design, traditional art, and digital photography, video and photo editing. He works in South Florida teaching seasonal animation courses at Coral Springs Museum of Art and creating a variety of commercial 2D and 3D motion graphic content. He has worked on projects for national brands such as The Sales Huddle Group, National Gift Card, and Gables Residential and recently started designing for augmented reality app Aurasma animating yearbook covers for Yearbook 3D and compositing proposal renderings for Taptl transparent touchscreen displays. In addition, he also serves the South Florida digital community as Director of Social Media for the Fort Lauderdale ACM SIGGRAPH chapter. His favorite subjects are science and biological animation along with character animation.

This year we are teaming up with Florida Game Developers Association, DMAC (Digital Media Art College), and the Foundry to bring together art and science under one roof to create amazing games with everyone around the world.
The Game Jam is open to everyone interested in creating games, whether you are a beginner, hobbyist, professional game developer., etc. You can make any type of game at the Jam, no one is limited to just creating video games. Attendance is free, and raffles during the event.
We are glad to have local indie developers Andy and Dylan from Jupiter Lighthouse as our local keynote speakers for the Global Game Jam to kickoff on Friday. Both are industry veterans from the Video Game and Software Development industries respectively who have come back home to South Florida to create their own games !
Free training in 3D and coding will be provided by both Fort Lauderdale ACM SIGGRAPH and FGDA on January 9th and 16th, all leading up to the Game Jam for those interested in making video games. They will take place at the North Boynton Hack Lab, starting at 7 pm both days. You can RSVP to these events through FGDA’s meetup page, here for the 9th and here for the 16th.
- Dylan Engelman,
a The programming half of Jupiter Lighthouse Studio.Self taught developer who landed his first job 3 months after writing first line of code. Sharpened his skills on business software and web services while developing games as a hobby on the weekends. The stability and lucrative nature of writing business software was great, but the desire to create what you love is far more rewarding.Parking is free at the venue and participants will receive guest passes to access the school for the duration of the Jam.
Andrew Hilderbrand, The art & design half of Jupiter Lighthouse Studio.Industry veteren with 7+ years of experience. He has gone from garage start-up to the the world’s leading videogame company and back again. Triple A work was amazing, but the lure of smaller production ultimately won out. He is heavily influenced by South Florida & PS1 era graphics.
Greg Brown Digital Artist for the Foundry, will be onsite during the Game Jam to help users create 3D content for the games. He has worked in Advertising as a 3D artist for 5 years and as a freelance Character Modeler for 8. Greg has produced work for variety of high profile brands during his time at Alter, including Coors, Mcdonalds, Corona, Bacardi, Hersheys, Cox Cable and many others. He currently lives in Chicago, Il and spends his days serving up fresh, hot Modo goodness…
